After training across multiple artistic disciplines and studying at various art schools, I turned to sculpture nearly two decades ago, drawn to it as the one visual medium I had yet to explore. Having already developed a strong foundation in drawing through my work as an interior designer,
sculpture offered both a challenge and a necessary shift in perspective.
During this period, I developed a lasting fascination with the abstraction of the human form. My practice is driven by a continuous exploration of
how far the body can be reduced -how it can be distilled into line, rhythm, and structure-while still retaining its essential human presence.
Each work becomes a study in balance between recognition and abstraction, between form and identity.
Movement plays a central role in my work. In some series, I extend sculpture beyond a single object by creating sequences of figures that suggest motion, almost like sculptural stop-motion. These compositions allow the viewer to experience time as a spatial and visual continuum.
As my practice evolved, so did my approach to materials. I began experimenting with media that are rarely associated with traditional sculpture, gradually developing a distinctive and personal method. Each piece begins with a sketch, followed by detailed studies in modeling wax.
This phase allows me to work intuitively and without constraint, refining the form until it reaches its precise balance.
The final works are cast using solid plaster molds. The wax is melted away and replaced with a composite mixture of polyester and carefully selected additives, enabling a wide range of finishes-from mineral and stone-like textures to oxidized or metallic surfaces. This process allows me to control not only the form, but also the tactile and visual identity of each sculpture.
